Viktor Konvalinka

After graduating from the Prague Dance Conservatory in 2004, Viktor joined the Czech National Ballet, where he was appointed soloist in 2006. He has performed as a soloist in classical repertoire, modern ballets and contemporary choreography. During his time here, Viktor performed many works by renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Mats Ek, Jiri Pokorny, Jacobo Godani, Youri Vamos and many more. He also had the opportunity to create a piece for the Czech National Ballet called Guru where he gained experience working with a full orchestra and opera singers from the Czech National Theatre. In 2009 Viktor and his two colleagues founded their own project based dance company called DEKKADANCERS, in which they were then able to explore their own ideas through dance and choreography. In 2015, Viktor won the category “best male dancer” of the 23rd edition of Thalia Awards in Czech Republic for his outstanding solo in Ohad Naharin’s ‘Decadance’ staged by Czech National Ballet. Viktor then joined Norrdans in August 2015 where he worked with many choreographers such as Mats Ek, Mari Carassco, Jo Strømgren, Fernando Melo, Roy Assaf, Tina Tarpgaard, Martin Forsberg, Kartin Hall and Simone Grøtte. Even after leaving the Czech Republic, Viktor continued being a part of his company DekkaDancers when he could, going back to choreograph on his time off. In 2019 he left Norrdans to start a life of freelancing with the support of Dansalliansen in Sweden. His freelance journey has brought him back to Czech work with 420 People and BURKI&com. He has also returned to work with DEKKADANCERS as a Dancer and Choreographer along with finding his other passions in the world. From January 2022 he joined Skånes Dansteater company as a dancer for 4 month project.
